WSU BUTCH T. COUGAR

Butch T. Cougar is the mascot of Washington State University. The cougar was adopted as the university mascot in 1919 and from 1927-1978 was represented by a live cougar. Since the death of Butch VI in 1978, Butch T. Cougar is represented by an anonymous costumed student whose identity is not revealed until the last home game of the year.
