Who Are We: Replay Photos is run by a team of individuals who understand the unique connection between a university and its alumni, fans and supporters. Sue Harnett, a former All-America basketball player from Duke University, founded the company with two goals in mind. "First, we have found a valuable way to assist universities in meeting their missions. Universities and athletic departments are increasingly challenged to financially support their activities. The royalties that we pay universities assist in this endeavor. Our second goal is to provide alumni, fans and supporters of universities the opportunity to purchase wonderful images that evoke the passionate feelings they have for their favorite schools."

Athletic & Campus Photography: Our goal is to offer a comprehensive gallery of still photography for all of our member universities. Customer feedback has shaped the types of images that we offer on our school websites. We will continually expand the number and type of athletic and campus photos we offer in an effort to best satisfy the varied interests of individuals who visit our galleries.

New Product Line: Photography has long slipped through the cracks of the licensing process. With the explosion of the internet and marketplace shopping channels, such as eBay, it has become increasingly easy for unlicensed individuals to offer university photography for sale. This practice infringes on university copyright interests, resulting in lost royalty income to the university, results in a loss-of-control of images representing the university and possible violations of NCAA student-athlete guidelines. We diligently work with our member schools to develop their consumer photography brand that leads consumers to a licensed, university-approved offering of images.

Business-to-Consumer Business Model: Replay Photos' business model focuses on marketing athletic and campus images directly to consumers. We have multiple sales channels, including customer internet websites for member universities and a variety of retail solutions. Our primary sales vehicle is the internet. We have over four years of experience in developing specific strategies to market to individuals. Replay Photos is the industry leader in consumer-based university athletic and campus photography sales.

What We Do Not Do: We do not market ourselves as a one-stop-shop for media solutions. In today's ever-changing environment of still photography, film, website providers and business-to-business arrangements, we do not believe that one company can responsibly satisfy all of media needs. In the arena of still photography, Replay Photos model addresses issues related to copyright, licensing, right of privacy and the NCAA guidelines, among other issues. Our goal is to deliver a top quality product while conducting our business with integrity in all respects. We recognize that our business reflects directly on our member universities, and we act accordingly.

Marketing: Replay Photos offers a comprehensive approach to the marketing of photography to consumers. A presence on the official athletic department website is simply one of many possible vehicles for marketing a university's photography. The following are some examples of tactics and strategies we use in our marketing efforts:

  1. Account Executives – A Replay Photos staff member is assigned as the primary point-of-contact for each school. This person is charged to work with the school in identifying content, crafting a campus-based marketing plan and identifying sales opportunities in the local community.
  2. Search Engine Optimization – We leverage the power of the internet search engines (primarily Google, Yahoo and MSN) to result in more optimal ranking of our school-branded photo galleries.

  5. Email Marketing Efforts – Replay Photos will email customers and individuals who have elected to sign up for our mailing list.
  6. Campus Relationships – We work with many athletic departments, alumni associations, lettermen's associations, development offices and university architect offices to develop a spectrum of relationships that assist us in developing a brand and selling to interested constituents.
  7. Print Collateral – Replay Photos works with a host of campus and community organizations to identify populations that are interested in our product offerings.

Sale of Current Student-Athlete Photos: Replay Photos follows all NCAA regulations regarding the sale of current student-athlete photos. With the most recent NCAA clarification of this language, Replay Photos can begin selling photos featuring current student-athletes, if a member school so desires.

License Agreements: Replay Photos has always believed that each university should determine the method by which they would like to enter into a license agreement with Replay Photos. Our preference, and the preference of the majority of our member schools, is to work with universities directly as this is not a traditional license. Each university is unique; therefore, we are prepared to proceed in whatever manner is felt to be best by each university.

Kodak Relationship: Replay Photos has recently announced a comprehensive relationship with the Eastman Kodak Company, the most recognized brand in consumer photography. Kodak will manufacture and ship all photography and internet products, as well as provide assistance with introducing product to major regional and national retailers across the country. Replay Photos will also work with Kodak to constantly bring new image-based products to the market. We will introduce an expanded product line in the summer of 2007.

Hard Work: To create a successful program tailored to the needs of each school, an incredible amount of diligence must be put forth and sustained. What we do is often tedious and is rarely easy. For that reason, we have developed a team of passionate and industrious people who roll up their sleeves daily and enthusiastically approach tasks for their schools. If tackling filing cabinets or storage boxes is required to uncover valuable photographic content, Replay Photos is committed to performing this work for the school.
