APOLLO 14 AND ALAN B. SHEPARD JR ON THE MOON

Share This Photo:

Apollo 14 Astronaut Alan B. Shepard Jr., who hit three golf balls while on the moon, conducts an experiment near a lunar crater, using an instrument from the two-wheeled rickshaw cart carrying the various test tools on Feb. 13, 1971. It was from this cart that Shepard took one tool, screwed on a specially-adapted No. 6 gold club head and hit first golf balls on the moon. Precise location of this crater and experiment was not pinpointed by NASA which released photo on Saturday from film shot by the astronauts on the moon. (AP Photo)
